The history

Silvana and Augusto, the actual owners of the Locanda, are currently facing a real return to origins.

At the end of 1800 their mother grandparents Augusto and Quintilia managed a inn with kitchen in “vocabolo Prato giardino”, while their father grandparents Eudoro and Marzia, farmers’ children and for this reason particularly used to pork processing, were starting a peddling business ( on donkey back) of pork roast meat cooked in wood stove.

These two activities, originally managed by the two families,  were joined together because their two sons, Maria and Enzo, get married in 1953 and kept going both the inn and the handmade pork process and cold cut food production.
At the beginning they created a work place in a room of their house and then, in the ‘80s, they created a new workshop when their sons, Augusto and Silvana, entered in the management of the activity and in 1996 they created a new “salumificio” (place where various kinds of cold meat are produced) that combine  a modern production concept and old traditional recipes .

Thanks to the history of these families and to the wish of joining the two activities, for some years Augusto and Silvana are following a project regarding the ancient farm house placed inside the family homestead.

After an accurate restoration, the historical activity of the Locanda  with the kitchen has been resumed and now you can taste there the unfailing Scianca “salumi” (cold meat) and all the traditional dishes of the place.
